A hairdressing course is one of the best ways to start your career in the hair industry.  It teaches hair care, techniques, and the process of different hair chemical services according to salon standards.

You will learn that hairdressing is one of the most simple and beautiful things to do; it is an art form, and our hair plays a vital role in shaping our personality and for fashion purposes.  Moreover, it attracts attention due to its delicate structure and shape.

There are competencies required to become a hairdresser.  The competencies are as follows:

• Perform pre- and post-hair care services
• Perform hair and scalp treatment
• Perform basic hair cutting
• Perform basic hair coloring
• Perform basic perming
• Perform bleaching

In addition, we incorporated lessons in hair styling and coiffure.

In hairdressing, formal and salon training is different.  Salon training is more hands-on and focuses on the overall workflow of a salon.  Salons do not provide licenses/certificates when completing the training provided.  On the other hand, formal classroom training focuses more on skill sets and technique building.  It also provides NC II Certification.  It is also crucial to broaden your knowledge while you master hairdressing techniques.  Get a solid foundation first, then advance to improve your career.
